Why Quantum Computing?
Dr. James Meng, UC San Diego
Virtual — 9:00–10:00 AM PT
A strategic overview of the emerging commercial landscape of quantum computing, tailored for corporate and technology leaders navigating immediate operational shifts. By highlighting practical business applications and imminent market disruptions, it outlines why executives must begin preparing for the quantum era today.
Operationalizing Trust in Autonomous Agent Systems
Jack Ottman, Founder, Recursiv.io
Virtual — 9:00–10:00 AM PT
As autonomous AI agents transition from research prototypes into enterprise operational environments, organizations face a critical governance gap: there is no accepted framework for measuring and delegating operational authority in agent execution. Jack will present Recursiv's new Agentic AI Autonomous System platform. He will then outline how Recursiv's platform will support a newly defined SDSC summer project on agentic AI orchestration, and how SPARK members can get involved.
Orchestrating Agentic AI Operations at the Workforce Level
James Massa, Senior Exec Director of Software Engineering & Architecture, JPMorgan Chase
Virtual — 9:00–10:00 AM PT
Agentic AI is here, but how are organizations preparing their people, work processes, and governance to operate productively with it? James will introduce the first of a three working paper series detailing a hybrid human-agent operating model designed to help organizations deploy agentic AI in a controlled and operationally sustainable manner. The objective is not automation in theory, but work automation that can be monitored, measured, governed, and reversed if necessary.
A Live Lab for Measuring Autonomous Agents: SPARK's Summer Research Program
Jack Ottman (Recursiv Labs) & James Short (SDSC)
Virtual — 9:00–10:30 AM PT
SPARK members are writing the frameworks for how agents should be selected, coordinated, evaluated, and governed, such as James Massa's SCORE-AI. This summer SPARK provides a live laboratory for those ideas: on Recursiv's agentic AI platform, student teams and members implement, run, and measure autonomous agents on real workloads. The session covers the standards landscape (AIUC-1, AARM), the live lab itself, three experiment tracks, and how to get involved: contribute a problem, test a framework, lend domain expertise, or co-author the results.
Innovation in a Bottle
Ali Mailihi, LifeAmore
Virtual — 9:00–10:00 AM PT
What if we could trace and track innovation on a more granular basis? An infinitesimal tracking of ideation into insight into innovation, where IP gets created and tracked, with all longitudinal data intact, validated, verified and certified. Ali will present a project vision and invite members to participate.
